Digestate treatment in anaerobic digestion plants for biogas production

The animal slurry and the biomass are used for biogas production in a digester. This produced biogas will be sent to a cogenerator for generating electrical or thermal energy.

In many cases the digestate produced in the digester is used as a fertilizer without any previous treatment, but this is not the smartest option, as its high nitrogen content makes it dangerous for the environment.

Our suggestion is to send the digestate to a vacuum evaporator in order to obtain high quality stabilized fertilizer, as well as clean water that may be reused or poured.
